Business Development Director – Germany (m/w/d)
Location: Remote in Germany
Hybrid work: Combination of remote work and regular customer visits; office presence as required
Salary: €70,000–€85,000 base plus 20–25% bonus (total 100K € and above) plus company car
Main duties:
To develop and drive commercial growth in Germany by winning new business, expanding key accounts, and establishing a strong and sustainable market presence.
The role:
• Act as the primary commercial lead for the German market, with a strong focus on new business development
• Identify, approach, and convert new customers across multiple B2B segments and partner channels
• Manage complex, consultative sales cycles involving integrated solutions and services
• Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key decision-makers and influencers
• Represent the company in the German market and strengthen brand visibility and credibility
• Support and coordinate a small local team, while remaining fully hands-on in sales activity
• Work closely with international internal teams to deliver tailored customer solutions
• Track pipeline, KPIs, and market activity, providing clear and structured reporting
• Proven experience in business development or commercial leadership within B2B technology or solution-based environments
• Strong hunter mentality, with a track record of opening new markets or territories
• Entrepreneurial, autonomous, and comfortable working in less structured organisations
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and closing complex, high-value deals
• Able to operate independently while contributing to the development of a small team
• Strong knowledge of the German retail and/or banking landscape
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
• Fluent in German and English; additional languages are an advantage
• Willingness to travel frequently across Germany
