French Speaking Proof-reader & Editorial Assistant
Salary: £40,000 pa

Main duties:
Carry out a variety of duties in processing documents and support French Translation Section's work.

The Role:
- Proofread French texts for precision, quality and conformity with established standards and policies
- Ensure processing & editorial changes have been accurately & successively incorporated
- Edit, insert corrections, format & prepare documents, include complex tables, reports, special layouts, merging, collating
- Verify the grammar syntax, references quoted, concordance of French texts with the original documents to ensure an accurate translation
- Consult editors, translators make proposals in the case of any omissions or discrepancies between the original and the translated text
- Check all components of the original (source) text are correctly reflected in the final edited/translated document
- Convert texts into different formats using various software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and check the converted text for accuracy
- Deal efficiently with high volumes of documents and work independently in order to meet competing document deadlines

- Fluent in French & English (written & spoken) is essential
- Thoroughness and attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy of output
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Sense of initiative and capacity to work independently
- Positive attitude, flexibility and willingness to work late hours, even at short notice
- Thrive in working in a multicultural environment & establish working relationships
