We collect and process sensitive personal data only so far as is necessary to ensure we conform to legal and statutory requirements, for example under the equality of opportunity laws.

We may also share aggregate information with selected third parties but we do not disclose individual names or any identifying information unless you have specified your agreement.
Do we make automated decisions when profiling, screening or shortlisting in the recruitment process?
No, we do not use your personal details to make automated decisions. All our profiling, screening or shortlisting process involves the human intervention of our consultants.
How is this database safeguarded?
The security of your data is very important to us. All personal information supplied to us is held in secure conditions in our database. Access to your personal data is only provided to our staff and third parties who help us to process and store data and, in order to help with the recruitment process, to prospective employers or customers.
How correcting or updating personal details?
If you wish to change or update your personal details, please contact French Selection UK by email at recruit@french-selection.co.uk or call 0330 120 0520.
How do you unsubscribe or remove your details from our database?
If you wish to stop receiving details of job vacancies we have identified as being potentially of interest to you, please send us an email at unregister@french-selection.co.uk quoting “Unsubscribe me” together with your full name and your email address.
If you wish to completely remove all your details from our database, please send us an email at unregister@french-selection.co.uk quoting “Erase all my details” together with your full name and your email address.
How long do we normally keep your details for?
Because of the specialist nature of our recruitment services, specialising in job opportunities that require the use of foreign languages in specific areas of international trade, we find that candidates who have submitted their details to us are often still interested in hearing from us occasionally when we have a suitable languages opportunity near them, as these can be far and few between on the employment market. For that reason, we find that a reasonable period of retention of approximately six years following the last communication between a candidate and ourselves is usually considered appropriate. We regularly find employment to candidates who have not been in touch with us for several years, due to the specific and targeted nature of our services. However, at any point, if you would like your details removed, you may contact us to do so as described above.
How do you raise any concerns or objections?
If at any time you have any questions or objections or any concerns about French Selection UK privacy policy and about our use of your personal details, please contact our Data Controller Mr. Gilles Guedot by email at data@french-selection.co.uk
The Data Protection supervising authority is the Information Commissioner’s Office.
How do we let you know if our policy changes?
Any policy changes, either due to business reasons or future changes in legislation, will be posted on this page and, if substantial, may be promoted on the website or through e-mail notification.
